I was invited to give a talk on the evolution of my work in recent years from still life to Urban and Industrial subjects. I included some of my approaches to teaching painting and drawing and my focus on the infinite possibilities to be explored in the pictorial space behind and in front of the picture plane.
I was invited to Kaolin Kays: Essence of Transformation podcast to talk about our common interest in the languages of light. I enjoyed sharing my journey in the study of classical painting techniques that enabled me to create illusions, in paint, of forms, volumes and aerial perspective all to enhance the visual experience of a paintings subject. My presentations are designed to stimulate creative thinking and enhance the viewer’s encounter with works of art through an exploration of the tools and systems used by the artist in the creation of a painting or drawing.
