PUTTING THE REAL INTO REALISM
Students are guided through a series of painting exercises designed to build the perception of tonal
values, color temperature, and aerial perspective, the essential ingredients of strong realistic
painting since the Renaissance. Information on color mixing, organizing the palette, the care,
maintenance, and function of the various brushes and materials used. Lively on-going discussions
of current and historical movements in painting. A library, visual resources, still life materials,
work stations, and storage for personal equipment – all provide a stimulating environment where
the artist’s individual expression is encouraged. Participants benefit greatly from each other’s
explorations and achievements. Class sizes are very limited to ensure quality individualized instruction.
Some drawing experience is helpful. $485. Tuesday Mornings from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., September 1st to October 6th, 2026 Wednesday Evenings September 16th to October 21st, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

PET PORTRAITURE WORKSHOP
Preserve that image of your beloved pet in Oil, Watercolor, or Charcoal or Pencil Drawing. Make a memorable portrait that captures their personality by using your photo references and adding chosen environments or colored backgrounds to your composition. We will look at some fun animal and reptile portraits and historical examples as we come up with ideas for your work. To register : email or call. Class size is limited.

THINK SLOW / PAINT FAST Watercolor
Enjoy the delightful medium of watercolor. With a structured approach to using the
light of the paper, this series of exercises and experiments enable the artist to achieve
the freshest color expression and the illusions of form and texture. $395
